My Favorite Smoothies

Hey guys! Like I was talking about in my latest post – I am working on ‘detoxifying my life’. Instead of going for EVERYTHING at once, which is slightly overwhelming, I have decided to go for one thing. This one thing for me right now is getting back in my gym routine and healthy eating (because they go hand and hand-duh).

Recently I have gotten back on my smoothie grind and I LOVE IT. Smoothies are a great way to revive my body and feed it nutrients without eating a salad or picking at fruit.

This recent bowl that I made was inspired by Tone It Up. I love love love acai bowls but living in CT, there are slim pickin’s. So when I saw this bowl that LOOKED like an acai bowl, I obviously had to make it.

A handful of blueberries

A Handful of Strawberries

1 C Almond Milk (which I try not to have too much of on a weekly basis)

Coconut flakes

Almond Butter

*Mix it up*

This bowl was so fun to make, so EASY and tasted delicious. I obviously topped it with coconut flakes, hemp seeds and chia seeds to make it look pretty and take a picture (because we all know me and my pictures).

Benefits of adding Hemp

As I was just looking up nutrition facts to write about hemp seeds, because I love them, I just learned they are part of the cannabis family which is why they were ignored for their nutritional benefits for quite some time.

Hemp is a natural appetite suppressant and can help you stay full longer and reduce sugar cravings (which I def need help with). When you add these seeds to your meal (as well as chia) it can help curb cravings for the rest of the day.

If you end up making this smoothie make sure to tag me and let me know how it tastes đŸ™‚

XO,
